RAPID ASSESSMENT OF ECOTOXICOLOGIC DANGER OF NEW CHEMICAL COMPOUNDS AND FORECAS OF ZONES WITH THE INCREASED ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARD WITHIN A REGION TERRITORY

There have been developed a complex of geoinformation systems (GIS) and software intended for rapid assessment of ecotoxicologic hazard of new chemical compounds ingressing into water basins, air and soil.

The range of chemical substances to be determined encompasses saturated petroleum hydrocarbons, monocyclic and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, phenols, pesticides, organic phosphates, stabilizers and plasticizers for plastics, components of the products of organic petroleum synthesis and chemical-recovery coal carbonization, heavy metals etc.

Different methods of applied mathematics and geoinformation technologies have been actively developed for proper use and interpretation of data obtained.

There has been developed a GIS-technology to reveal the zones of increased ecological hazard within a region territory and to forecast the dynamics of their changes depending on the scenarios of social and economical policy of local and regional administrations.

The computations of admixtures spread into the atmosphere are made in accordance with standard methods and are used to draw up the ecological certificates and norms of industrial wastes into the environment.

The GIS-technology developed for the forecast of the zones of ecological hazard of chemical contamination of the environment has been adapted to GIS ARC/INFO extensively used worldwide.
