A Complex Action Additive to be Used with the Paraffin Oils

A novel additive possessing a complex action to be used with the paraffin oils has been developed on the basis of the wastes of oil refining and resin industry. 

 The additive advantages:

• It possesses a depressor effect:

                a)    It lowers the pour point of paraffin and high-paraffin oils by 20-30^oC at its introduction in the amount of 0.05 wt.%.

                b)    It reduces the effective viscosity of paraffin and high-paraffin oils by 10-40%.

• The additive possesses inhibiting properties and prevents the formation of the deposits of asphalts, resins and paraffins on the walls of the oil-field equipment. In case of usage with  paraffin and high-paraffin oils of the Tomsk Oblast the inhibiting ability of the additive is 60-90% at the introduction in the amount of 0.03-0.05 wt.%.

• The additive possesses antirust properties. The degree of the protection of the oil-field equipment is 90-97 % at the introduction in the amount of 0.03-0.05 wt.%.

• The additives possesses detergent properties: at the introduction in the oil pipeline containing the deposits of asphalts, resins and paraffins a cleaning of the inner surface of the pipeline takes place due to the dissolution and wash-out of the deposits, which results in the restoring of the effective pipe diameter and reduction of the friction pressure losses at a fixed pumping rate.

The additive represents an environmentally friendly liquid product supplied to the customers in barrels.

The additive is commercially produced by "Kompania  REM" Ltd (Kemerovo, Russia).
