collection and recycling of oil from water surface by fibrous oil adsorbents of NPM type |
|
At the Institute of Petroleum Chemistry there were developed fibrous adsorbents (NPM and B types) representing specially activated naturals materials of vegetable or mineral (inorganic) origin. The adsorbent base is commercially produced. The initial fibre is modified at the pilot production of IPC SB RAS.
The adsorbents are provided to collect oil, petroleum products, and iridescent films from water surface at accidents, to purify industrial sewage from dissolved petroleum products and accompanying mineral and organic contaminants in the systems of multilayered filtration.
At present the following modifications of the adsorbents are produced: NPM-ELR (rolls) and NPM-ELS (pads).
The adsorbents are regular means used by the ‘Tomskneft’ JSC (city of Tomsk). They were successfully applied at the oil spill elimination on Belaya river (Bashkortostan Republic) in 1996.
Sorptive capacity is 12 kg of oil per 1 kg of adsorbent.
They do not drawn, stand 10 regeneration cycles by wringing out or centrifugation. Used adsorbents may be recycled.
The adsorbents are protected by RF patents.
There is a technological possibility to develop a process consisting of a complex of means:
Fibrous adsorbents;
A device for the collection of the adsorbents from water surface;
An installation for adsorbents regeneration.
The complex may occupy a maximum area of 40 m2, operate at power supply of 380 V AC, power consumption is 5.5 KVA. Minimum stuff required is 5 persons.
